10:40 Award ceremony for the VDEI Sponsorship Prize 2017

During the opening ceremony the popular VDEI Sponsorship Prize 2017 will again be attributed. Every four years this award prizes outstanding and future-oriented works of students and young engineers.
The laureate, Timo Strobel, receives a considerable prize of 2500 Euro for his work on "Construction of a Electro-diesel locomotive for Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG".

Continuous monitoring of infrastructure during scheduled operations

In the context of continuous monitoring of production equipment in the railway industry, the presentation shall look at continuous condition monitoring of infrastructure assets. Specifically, the presentation will outline the monitoring of select track sections by DB Systemtechnik on behalf of DB Netz AG and the resulting improvement to infrastructure quality. Concluding it shall provide an outlook on the opportunities of integrating continuous track monitoring into a big data platform.
Following the presentation there will be ample opportunity for discussions and an exchange of views amongst experts.

The iaf Career Day aims to provide an insight into the railway sector for students and young engineers.
A guided tour through the halls and the impressive outside exhibition grounds of iaf 2017 offers a great opportunity to experience technology first hand and to make first contacts with selected exhibitors.

This seminar is associated to the 27th International Exhibition for Track Technology (iaf) and will report in short and succinct lectures on the latest findings regarding LCA for major building sites, soil recycling concepts and innvations in track maintenance. iaf Salon - Background & Booking

The iaf Salon that was introduced in 2013 with its high-level specialist lectures and expert panels has meanwhile become an ideal platform for information exchange on an equal footing. In 2017 this meeting point will once more invite visitors to talk directly with iaf exhibitors and to get in-depth information on their products. As an exhibitor, you are offered the opportunity to book one-hour slots. You are also free to design your own event, be it an overall presentation of your company, an introduction to your latest products or a seminar in a conference room equipped with the basic technical infrastructure (beamer, sound system) and provided with a simultaneous interpretation (German – English) included in the price.
The program of the iaf Salon will be included in the information materials of the exhibition.
