Federal Minister Volker Wissing assumes patronage for iaf 2022

Dr. Volker Wissing, German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport

The German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, Dr Volker Wissing, has agreed to be the patron of the 28th International Exhibition of Track Technology (iaf) in Münster.

On behalf of the patron, a representative of the ministry will address the guests of the iaf during the opening event.

For Thomas Mainka, President of the Association of German Railway Engineers (VDEI), the organiser of the iaf, the assumption of patronage by the Federal Minister of Transport underlines the great importance that the railway plays as a sustainable and future-proof means of transport. Moreover, this is also an expression of the great appreciation for the iaf as the world's leading trade fair for track technology.

Patronage also for VDEI Academy

Wissing is also happy to assume the patronage of the VDEI Academy, succeeding his predecessor Andreas Scheuer. Dr Joachim Warlitz, Head of the VDEI Academy, is delighted: “This commitment demonstrates the high esteem politicians have for our educational platform, regardless of party-political interests. We will continue to do our best to justify this trust placed in us.”
