Association of German Railway Engineers grants sponsorship award for outstanding theses by young engineers
The Association of German Railway Engineers e.V. (VDEI) announces the "VDEI Sponsorship Award 2022" for outstanding theses by young engineers from the railway sector.
The topic of the thesis should be current challenges in the railway transport system. The topic should be considered and presented holistically. Preference will be given to concrete approaches to solutions, such as modernising existing railway facilities and optimising operational processes.
Students or doctoral candidates at European universities and engineers with less than three years of professional experience can participate. The work can be carried out individually or in groups. The thesis must be written in German.
The closing date for entries is 15.12.2021, 16:00. The VDEI office accepts submissions in electronic form only at the following e-mail address: gs@vdei.de. A jury consisting of several members will decide on the best work. The award consists of 3,000.00 EUR.
The award ceremony for the " VDEI Sponsorship Award 2022" will take place during the 28th International Exhibition for Track Technology - iaf (31 May to 2 June 2022). The award-winner(s) will have the opportunity to present their work in front of an auditorium. The winning topic will be announced in the trade journals "DER EISENBAHN-INGENIEUR", "Signal + Draht", "VDI-Nachrichten" and in the journal of the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers, "Forschung und Lehre".
The VDEI supports the professional development and further training of engineers in the entire spectrum of railway transport. The professional advancement of young engineers is of particular importance to the association. By granting the sponsorship award, the association aims to specifically support the next generation of engineers.
