VDEI organises iaf Congress under patronage of Dr. Rüdiger Grube, CEO of DB AG
From 17th to 19th May 2011 the people who matter in Europe’s railway industry will be coming together in Münster.
That date may be surprising: surely the world’s leading exhibition on track technology (iaf) won’t come round again till 2013. “That’s too long,” thought the organisers at the Association of German Railway Engineers (Verband Deutscher EisenbahnIngenieure e.V. – VDEI) and brought the iaf Congress on Rail Infrastructure Works into being. The event will bring together experts and representatives of international railway infrastructure managers to discuss the topic of “Network Improvement in Europe”. The iaf Congress will offer the railway technology industry a major new forum for debating and seeking out solutions – for issues such as growing merchandise flows, environmental directives, cross-border traffic, line utilisation and capacity bottlenecks will pose major challenges for railway experts in the coming years. Every four years, therefore, the Congress will be devoted to an important topic in
the field of railway infrastructure.Dr. Rüdiger Grube, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, is patron of the first iaf Congress on Rail Infrastructure Works.
